Defra Digital Waste Tracking — MANDATORY Go-Live (England, NI & Wales)

Digital waste tracking becomes legally mandatory for all permitted and licensed waste receiving sites in England, Northern Ireland and Wales. This includes water and wastewater treatment works, transfer stations, MRFs and anaerobic digestion plants. Paper waste transfer notes will no longer satisfy legal requirements. Phase 2 (carriers, brokers, dealers) follows October 2027.
